Due to recent internal restructuring and progressions, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join Folkestone Town Council as the Administration Officer.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to assist the Town Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer in providing effective and efficient secretarial and committee administration support for the Town Council, which is integral to providing a professional service to the community.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in administration with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Care and attention to detail are essential. Knowledge of how local government works and the challenges affecting councils would be an advantage, although not essential as training will be given.

This role offers a great opportunity to build awareness of government operating at a local level, develop knowledge of the services within the Council’s remit and gain insight into how decisions are made. The successful candidate can enjoy working in a supportive team environment, with a competitive salary, inclusion in the local government pension scheme and opportunities for further training and development.
