The Town Council consists of 18 Councillors who represent seven Wards.
Each year the Town Council elects from their number a Town Mayor (Chair) – The Worshipful Town Mayor of Folkestone.
The Council conducts its business through five standing Committees and a Personnel Sub-Committee which deals with staffing and employment issues. Committees and Full Council generally meet every two months.

Community Services Committee Membership:
Cllrs Roger West, Lucy McGirr, Bridget Chapman, Jane Darling, Peter Gane and Belinda Walker.
Climate and Environment Committee Membership:
Cllrs John Renshaw, Kieran Leigh, Abena Akuffo-Kelly, Charles Bain Smith, Laura Davison, Nicola Keen, Lucy McGirr, Belinda Walker and Roger West.
Grants Committee Membership:
Chair – Cllr Lucy McGirr, Vice Chair – Cllr Belinda Walker. All Councillors are members of the Grants Committee.
