I was elected as a councillor for Cheriton West in May 2023.
I have lived in Folkestone for much of my life and brought up my family here between periods living abroad.
I was the lead social specialist in the Environmental Safeguards Unit of the Inter-American Development in Washington DC until I retired in 2014, and since then have been working as a consultant on projects to help communities adapt to climate change or recover after natural and man-made disasters.
I sit on the Council’s Planning Committee and on the Climate and Environment Committee.
I believe passionately in the need for more public discussion of the issues that will determine the future of Folkestone and its people, above all the need to ensure a healthy, sustainable environment, good quality housing, and all the civic amenities essential to help
local people and their businesses prosper.
