Folkestone dates back to around 630AD. At that time it became an important part of the first Christian kingdom in England, the Kingdom of Kent.
The complete Trail, which is about 2.25 miles long, stretches from the cliffs of East Cliff down through Folkestone Harbour and up the Old High Street to the ancient parish church of St Mary & St Eanswythe.

Folkestone Town Council is closed from 24th December for the holidays and will reopen on Monday 5th January, with the Town Hall reopening on Tuesday 6th January with the usual opening times of 10am – 4pm. Please note that Folkestone Museum will reopen on Saturday 3rd January.
