Folkestone dates back to around 630AD. At that time it became an important part of the first Christian kingdom in England, the Kingdom of Kent.
The complete Trail, which is about 2.25 miles long, stretches from the cliffs of East Cliff down through Folkestone Harbour and up the Old High Street to the ancient parish church of St Mary & St Eanswythe.
