Folkestone Museum takes you on a journey through the history of Folkestone, from its origins as a humble coastal community, through to its heyday as a fashionable seaside resort and beyond.

Located in the Town Hall, the Museum explores the history of the Town through the themes of:

  • Fashion
  • Frontline
  • Maritime
  • Natural
  • Ancient

Temporary exhibitions are hosted in a dedicated space located on the lower ground floor.

Folkestone Town Council is closed from 24th December for the holidays and will reopen on Monday 5th January, with the Town Hall reopening on Tuesday 6th January with the usual opening times of 10am – 4pm.  Please note that Folkestone Museum will reopen on Saturday 3rd January.
