37 hours per week
(Predominantly evening and weekend working, rotas to be agreed)
Permanent contract
Salary circa £20,812 - £21,968 (pay award pending)
SCP 3-6 + Local Government Pension Scheme
This position will be subject to a DBS Check
Folkestone Town Council are looking to recruit a CCTV operator for their new CCTV Control Centre. Working in partnership with the Estates/Security Officer, you will assist the Town Clerk in all aspects of the operation of the CCTV control room, scheduling and providing 24/7 coverage utilising volunteers. You will be helping to protect public safety and assisting in the reduction and detection of crime, reducing the fear of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour across the town of Folkestone.
Ideally candidates should possess the following, although not essential as full training will be given:
· Knowledge and relevant experience of the use of CCTV in public spaces
· Security qualification/formal training and or SIA Licenced
· Ability to use initiative while working unsupervised and work as part of a team
· Knowledge of maintaining CCTV equipment
· A flexible and versatile approach to work
· Willingness to undertake appropriate training
· Possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable in dealing with Police, members of the public and external partners
· Experience of working with volunteers and ability to plan rotas
