Shaping the Future of Grace Hill
Folkestone Town Council is exploring how best to secure the long-term future of 2 Grace Hill, the former library building now owned by the Town Council.
In 2026, the Council acquired Grace Hill to ensure this important historic building remained in community ownership and could continue to serve local people for generations to come.
Working with partners and stakeholders, the Council is developing a vision that could include:
- The return of library services in the future.
- Community and voluntary sector spaces.
- Cultural, creative and educational activities.
- Public services and community facilities.
- The restoration and protection of a significant local landmark.
As plans develop, we are keen to hear residents’ views on the opportunities and priorities for Grace Hill.
Investing in Grace Hill’s Future
Bringing a historic building back into active community use takes time and careful planning.
Alongside efforts to secure external funding and grants, some local investment may be needed to support essential maintenance and security.
Local investment can also strengthen applications for larger grants and funding opportunities.
What Happens Next?
The feedback received through this consultation will help Councillors understand community priorities and inform future decisions about investment in Grace Hill. Responses will be considered as part of the Council’s budget-setting process and the ongoing development of plans for the building.
