Message of Hope from Folkestone Town Council to the Nepalese Community
The Town Council extends its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the devastating landslides and flash floods on the Nepal-Tibet border. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who remain missing, and the many communities facing hardship and uncertainty during this difficult time.
To our Nepalese community, we stand with you in solidarity and support. While the scale of this tragedy is heartbreaking, we are inspired by the courage, resilience, and unity that the Nepalese people have shown time and again in the face of adversity.
As search and rescue efforts continue, we hold onto hope for those still unaccounted for and for the safe recovery of survivors. We also pay tribute to the emergency responders, volunteers, and local communities working tirelessly to help those in need.
In moments like these, communities come together. We encourage everyone to offer compassion, support, and friendship to those affected. The strength of the Nepalese spirit, rooted in determination, hope, and mutual care, will help guide the path toward recovery and rebuilding.
Please know that our town stands alongside the Nepalese community during this challenging time. Together, we mourn, we support one another, and we look forward with hope to brighter days ahead.
“Even after the most powerful storm, hope remains.
Through unity, resilience, and compassion, communities can heal and emerge stronger than before.”
Councillor Jackie Meade
The Worshipful Town Mayor of Folkestone
