Town Mayor’s address to community regarding Remembrance Sunday

It is with heartfelt sorrow that this year we are unable to stand together and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf this Remembrance Sunday.

In normal times, the town of Folkestone would be lined with its people standing together, shoulder to shoulder in silence, thought and prayer.

This year has been unlike any year in modern memory, and once more, we are asked to stay home and be separated.

However, I urge everyone to again show our community spirit of remembrance from our doorsteps, balconies, gardens or in our home at 11am on Remembrance Sunday and stand for 2 minutes silence.

Although apart, we can show together, that ‘WE WILL REMEMBER THEM’.
