Overnight closures of sections of Shorncliffe Road and Risborough Way, Folkestone are planned from Monday 8 March 2021 for up to 2 nights, from 8.00 pm through until approximately 5.00 am each night.
Shorncliffe Road and Risborough Way will be closed between the junction with B2063 Risborough Lane and the western junction with Shorncliffe Crescent, to the actual extent shown at any time.
The alternative route for through traffic is via B2063 Risborough Lane, Military Road, A259 Sandgate High Street, Sandgate Hill, Sandgate Road and B2064 Shorncliffe Road.
Enbrook Valley will be closed at the junction with Shorncliffe Road as the works progress, with access continuing from a southern direction via B2063 Military Road and Enbrook Road.
Shorncliffe Crescent will be closed at its western junction with Shorncliffe Road, with access continuing from its eastern junction.
Personnel will be on site to allow managed access for residents (including Ferne Way and Laurel Close) when it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons.
The closures to enable Kent County Council to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing works.
The works have been timed to be carried out overnight, to reduce their impact
Some delays are likely, especially earlier in the evenings, so it is recommended that motorists allow extra time for their journeys or consider using alternative routes during these works.
