37 hours per week
(5 days in any 7 days without enhancements except for Bank Holidays)

Permanent contract
Salary circa £20,812 - £21,968 (pay award pending)
SCP 3-6 + Local Government Pension Scheme
This position will be subject to a DBS Check

 

Folkestone Town Council are looking to recruit two full-time permanent Ground Staff. This is an opportunity to join a local government organisation in a role with varied duties supporting the Town Clerk in all aspects of operations, including future development of the facilities and implementation of any approved development plans for recreation and open space and any other activities specified and to carry out tasks of routine groundsmanship, horticulture, maintenance and security on site.

 

Candidates must possess a full UK Driving Licence and ideally the following, although not essential as full training will be given:

·         A thorough knowledge and relevant experience of open spaces

·         Manual handling training knowledge and qualification

·         Must have ability to use initiative while working unsupervised and work as part of a team

·         Ability to use a range of machinery (i.e. tractor and pull along mowers) and tools including power tools, with experience

·         A good knowledge of general maintenance and machinery servicing

·         Physically fit and capable of lifting weights up to 15 kilogrammes

·         Must have a flexible and versatile approach to work

·         Ability to work occasional out-of-hours to assist with events

·         Must be willing to undertake appropriate training

·         Possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable in dealing with members of the public politely and tactfully.
